APPLICATION FORM

Anyone can do Triathlon.  Yes, even you!  Triathlon is said to be one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and it is easy to see why.  It is a sport that challenges and motivates you to keep fit.  Although there is the temptation to want good kit, you can participate on a very low budget.  Losing is mostly expected and still great fun!  The challenge is there for those that want to excel and there is the joy of participation and satisfaction for those who just love competing.

Most people can run and cycle fairly easily, even if it is not fast.  Swimming is the discipline that puts most people off.  However, swimming is not as difficult as you might think if you are prepared to start swimming regularly and even better, to take some training.  I have seen many triathletes swimming with breaststroke and then jump on a mountain bike, and good on them, we all start somewhere.

What next?  Well it is always easier to start by training with another triathlete and we can put you in touch with your local OIC.  We'd love to see you at one of the races on our schedule and if you'd like to join the RAFTA then complete an application form and Send it Off.  General queries can be directed to the RAFTA Sec.
