Inverness Half Marathon. An interesting
event with the weather conditions, but went ahead all
the same. Yes, it was the weekend that the majority
of Scotland ground to a halt with snow, high winds,
cold temperatures... perfect racing really. Results

Northern Scot 10K series - Completion
of the 3 races at Nairn, Elgin and Forres.
A bright but breezy afternoon at Forres saw Kelda Spratt
finish 2nd (40:48) behind Moray Road Runner Jane Barker,
who took the series title (accumulated time of 1:57:52)
for the 6th year in a row. Spratt finished 2nd in the
series (2:01:55) and was declared the series Veteran
Champion (first four across the line were all vets!).
Since returning from Kawaii, Kelda has posted PBs at
every race; her take on it:"...let's hope I haven't
peaked too soon, still have the golden 40 mins to crack
at 10k though!!" |

Bev's comment about the event: "great fun on closed
roads and in a teriffic atmosphere... a good result
and would do more if I wasn't so far north!! If you
want a good race - open water - great for all levels,
look on the humanrace
website."
and on Dave's performance... "how the hell does
he do that without training?!!"
Lucy Nell (16) of 1406(Spalding)Sqn ATC was first female
under 35 finishing in 1:06:10. This time made her fastest
female of the day, and 116th overall.
"I'm really pleased to be able to race for RAFTri,

of her prize... "In true Yank style my trophy is

Standard Distance Champs Sherbourne
A fantastic result, as we were close to beating the
Army! The new talent coming through is making a difference
- great performances from the likes of Simon Almond,
Dom Sanderson, Dale Grassby and Sticky Bunn. We had
a couple of guys missing too, which would have made
it closer still. Wish I could have been there but I
had to tend to a very poorly wife (who already suffers
greatly due to my triathlon ventures!). Mark Saggers |
